Amicae Facts

  • Amicae means Friends, more than one, and doesn’t require an s.
  • Amica is the title given to a member of the Amicae and Friend is the title given to a member of Zeta.
  • The group is called an auxiliary not a chapter.
  • All meetings of the auxiliary require the presence of at least one Zeta.
  • The auxiliary sets its fees and handles its own funds, but all monies sent to the National Office for anything should be sent through the Zeta Chapter.
  • The pin is to be worn on the left side above the apex of the heart.
  • There must be a minimum of five (5) eligible women to apply for a charter or to reactivate an auxiliary.
  • The number of Amicae should never exceed the active number of Zetas in the community.
  • The Amicae shall pay dues and assessments to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. only as set forth by the National Executive Board.
  • The Zeta Amicae colors are light blue and royal blue.
  • The flower is the white carnation.
  • The official pin is the clasped-hand covered by the letter Z.
