GLR Amicae

Welcome
Welcome to the Great Lakes Region Amicae (GLR) website. My name is Cynthia Dawkins-Terrell and I am the Regional Amicae Coordinator. I am honored to hold this position on the regional level and to be a part of the Regional Executive Board. I would like to thank GLR Director, Daisy L. Davis for this wonderful opportunity to work with the Amicae Auxiliaries of the GLR. I know this position holds many challenges but I gladly accept the task in the name of Zeta. The Amicae are true friends of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. forever and I have sincerely grown to love and care for the Amicae as more than friends. I look forward to growing with the Amicae to new levels and striving towards achieving their program goals.
I envision the Amicae growing three fold in the next five years. My primary goal for the Zeta Amicae Auxiliaries of the GLR is to recruit new Amicae Auxiliaries and reactivate the existing auxiliaries in all of the seven states within the GLR. In addition, I encourage the auxiliaries to work diligently in implementing and/or maintaining a Stork’s Nest within their local Zeta Chapters. Communication is a primary concern of mine and I plan to work towards improving the communication between the Amicae Auxiliaries within the GLR as well as between the Zetas and Amicae on all levels. Currently, I am in the process of planning an Amicae newsletter for the GLR. Also, I plan to work with the Amicae in developing various fund raisers within the GLR to go along with their business savvies. I foresee assisting the Amicae in implementing a Scholarship program within the GLR to assist young people who are in financial need and trying to obtain a college education. For the recruitment process, I have developed a brochure to be used as a marketing tool to assist both the Amicae and Zetas in recruiting new Amicae Auxiliaries and reactivating the existing auxiliaries. Most importantly, maintaining the auxiliaries and its morale is a key factor in retaining a successful membership base.
The Zeta Amicae is one of the greatest assets of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. They believe in Zeta’s founding principles of finer womanhood, scholarship, sisterhood, and service. The ladies of the Amicae Auxiliaries have always been there to serve with great passion and commitment within the community. The work ethics of the Amicae are superb and they gladly help everyone without a complaint. They are the most dedicated and sharing group of ladies working to achieve the mission of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
The Zeta Amicae Auxiliaries of the GLR have always answered the call of Zeta while helping other people excel. Their work is truly a reflection in every sense of the meaning of Z-HOPE! Let’s embrace our International Grand Basileus, Barbara C. Moore’s National Program Initiative, Z-HOPE: Zetas Helping Other People Excel The Amicae work side by side and hand in hand with their friends the Zetas. This is a true friendship that will last forever.
